Time Flies When You're Sicky Sick

Sorry it's been a while since we last posted. It's starting to become a theme around here, but we've all been sick. Miles just loves bringing home germs from day care! I'm actually home sick from work now, so I've finally updating this in between naps.

The good news is that at least Miles is on the mend, if you don't count his random rashes from food allergies. Big surprise - my kid is allergic to random crap. So far, it seems to be crap that grows in the ground - carrots, sweet potatoes, and squash. I'm not worried though - Miles' Uncle Craig seemed to have survived on cereal alone for the first 25 years of his life, so I'm thinking Miles can do the same.

I took Miles to the doctor for his second dose of flu shot on Tuesday - he was such a brave boy and only whimpered for a few seconds! Guess when you're used to getting 4 shots at a time, one little prick is nothin'. The big news is that Miles is 20 pounds, 4 ounces now! He gained two pounds in a month! Apparently his unvaried diet isn't stopping him on his way to porkerhood.

So, here's a quick recap of what we've been doing for past few weeks when we weren't sick:

The Colts lost in the playoffs. Miles cried and cried and cried. Oops, I meant Daddy cried and cried and cried.

We celebrated the New Year with grand flourish. We had a family dinner at Applebee's, then Jason and I spent New Year's Eve playing one crazy game of Scrabble after Miles went to bed. New Year's Day itself was spent at Big Lots and Wal-Mart. Somebody reign us in - we can only live this party lifestyle for so long before someone gets hurt!

Miles attended his first Butler basketball game. He could not stop staring - it was a bit faster-paced than Aunt Ashley's 11-year old girls' basketball game. The bulldog mascot scared him a little - not really a big fan. He'll learn!

Miles practiced his standing. Look at what a big boy he is!

So that's the excitement that is our life. We can't wait to make a road trip this weekend to see the Kolb family in Lexington!

I love Miles' face in the bulldog picture. So cute! I am sorry you have all been sick. I hope Miles doesn't bring any germs down to his cousin. Can't wait to see you this weekend!

Love,
Aunt KK

Wait a second.... Miles is only 7 months old! Shay is also 20 pounds and 4 ounces (as of her doctor's appointment last weekend), and she's 13 months! Even if your boy is allergic to stuff, I think you're still doing a good job feeding him. :)

We have that same Happy New Year shirt but in the pink colors! Your kid is super cute by the way. I can't decide who he looks like. I really think he is the perfect mix of the two of you! :)

I can't believe he's standing there! It's only been less than a month since I've seen him! On my way little buddy! Don't teach your little cousin any bad stuff this weekend!
